ChIPs Career Board—Employer Guide

ChIPs Career Board—Employer Guide

How to Post Jobs on the ChIPs Job Board

A step-by-step guide for employers — from creating your company profile to publishing your first job listing.

⚠️  TWO IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU START

  1. Employer and job seeker accounts are separate. You must use a different email address for your employer account than any existing job seeker account.
  2. All employer profiles require admin approval. After you register, a ChIPs administrator must review and approve your company profile before it goes live. You'll be notified by email — you cannot post jobs until then.

The ChIPs job board gives employers direct access to a highly qualified network of leaders in tech, law and policy. This guide walks you through setting up your employer account, getting approved and publishing your first job listing.

Step 1: Create Your Employer Account

Go to the ChIPs job board and click Sign Up in the top-right corner. When prompted to choose an account type, select Employer. You'll be taken to the Create Employer Profile form. Fill in:

  • Email (required)
  • Password (required)
  • Full name
  • Company name (required)
  • Phone number (optional)
  • Website URL (optional)
  • Location (optional)

⚠️ Important: Use a separate email address. Your employer account must be registered with a different email than any existing job seeker account. The two account types cannot share a login.

Step 2: Fill In Your Company Profile

Scroll down on the registration form to complete your company profile:

  • Upload your company Logo Write a Company Description in the rich-text editor — this will appear on every job listing you post
  • Check the box to agree to the terms of use
  • Then click Register. The form is protected by reCAPTCHA.

💡 Tip: Keep your company description concise and mission-focused — two to three sentences that capture your organization's purpose and culture. Candidates will see it beneath every job you post.

Step 3: Wait for Admin Approval

After clicking Register, you'll see a confirmation message. Your account is now pending review by a ChIPs administrator.

Pending approval: Your company profile will be active as soon as it is reviewed and approved. You'll receive an email notification once it's approved. You cannot post jobs until this step is complete.

💡 Tip: Check your inbox for the approval email from the ChIPs team. If you don't see it within one business day, check your spam folder or reach out to ChIPs directly.

Step 4: Sign In to Your Employer Dashboard

Once you've received your approval email, return to the ChIPs job board and click Sign In. Enter the email and password from your employer account.

⚠️ Important: If you're already signed in to a job seeker account, sign out first. Signing in with employer credentials while logged in as a job seeker may cause errors.

Step 5: Navigate Your Dashboard

After signing in, you'll land on My Account. The employer dashboard has four tabs:

  • Dashboard — at-a-glance stats for the last 30 days (jobs posted, job views, applications, apply clicks and apply rate)
  • Job Postings — all your active and past listings
  • Invoices — billing history
  • Company Settings — edit your profile and company info

💡 Tip: The Dashboard also shows your purchased products — including how many job slots you have available.

Step 6: Post a Job

Go to the Job Postings tab and click Post a Job in the top-right corner.

Fill in all fields:

  • Job Title — the exact role name candidates will see
  • Job Description — responsibilities, qualifications and any other relevant details
  • Job Type — Full Time, Part Time, Contract, etc.
  • Categories — practice area such as Legal, Marketing, etc.
  • Location — select Onsite, Remote or Hybrid and enter a city
  • Experience — select the required experience level
  • Salary Range — enter a range and pay frequency (hourly, yearly, etc.)
  • How to Apply — choose by email or by URL
  • Expiration Date — set when the listing should close When complete, click Preview to review your listing before it goes live.

Step 7: Preview and Publish Your Listing

The preview shows exactly how your listing will appear to candidates — including your logo, company description, salary range, experience tags and the About section from your company profile. Review everything carefully, then click Post to publish.

✓ Successfully posted! Your listing is now live on the ChIPs job board. Track views, applications and apply clicks from the Dashboard tab in My Account.

💡 Tip: Need to edit a listing? Go to the Job Postings tab in My Account to manage, edit or remove any active listings.
